1.      Special Event request for the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority's annual "Rail Fun Day", to be held at the Dania Beach Tri-Rail Station on Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. -3:00 p.m.  This is a free event for the community to celebrate Dania Beach Tri-Rail Station's 25th Anniversary.  (Agenda Request Item, Supporting Docs)

 

2.      Special Event request for the MLK Charitable Corporation, Inc. annual "Martin Luther King Jr. Parade and Activities" event. The parade will held on Monday, January 20, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., and the activities will be held at C.W. Thomas Park from 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.  The applicant is also requesting a special event permit fee waiver for $150.00; a BSO Police Escort for the Parade and Detail at the park; and road closures for 8th Avenue, 1st Street to Federal Highway, Stirling Road, and Phippen Road to NW 5th Avenue.     (Agenda Request Item, Supporting Docs)

 

3.      Special Event request for the Biblical House of God, None Other Church, "B.H.O.G. Community Outreach Festival", to be held at 819 SW J.A. Ely Boulevard, on Saturday, February 22, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.  The applicant is also requesting road closures for the corners of SW J.A. 5.      CITIZEN COMMENTS

 

Addressing the Commission: Comments by Dania Beach citizens, or other interested parties that are not part of the regular agenda, may be made during each Commission meeting during the period set aside for "citizen comments."  A thirty (30) minute "citizen comments" period shall be designated on the agenda for citizens and interested persons to speak on matters not scheduled on that day's agenda.  Each speaker shall be limited to 3 minutes for his or her comments.  Persons desiring to speak during the citizen comment period shall inform the City Clerk prior to the beginning of the meeting of their intention to speak.  If more than 10 speakers express a desire to speak, the Commission shall determine, on a meeting by meeting basis, whether to (a) extend the time allotted for citizen comments to accommodate all speakers, or (b) whether to limit the number of speakers or amount of time per speaker.  A speaker's time shall not be transferable to another speaker.
